Runners, Beware

RUNNERS, BEWARE : Many runners run for health reasons, and so, we must avoid running whenever the act of running poses a threat to our life. Running blindly without taking consideration of your safety & that of the others around you, is not only foolish but can be deadly. No matter how experienced Runners are, we must evaluate, treat & plan each Run separately and consider our current situation & the immediate environment on that particular time & day. Such normal safety considerations include, but not limited to the following :-
1) Runner’s Physical & Mental Health Status
2) Safety Gear
3) Route Safety
4) The Weather
5) Related Laws & Regulations

When we have been running so often & over the same route with the same routines, we can act on autopilot, zone-out our immediate surroundings & forget or ignore some important running safety rules. Sometimes our sheer confidence makes us drop our guard & make us run into dangerous situations. So, my advice to Runners during these turbulent times is to re-evaluate your personal safety policy; never take your safety for granted; always err on the side of safety; and don’t feel pressurised by your peers to take uncomfortable risks.. And remember, you can always replace or postpone your run to another time, but you can never replace a life that is lost forever.. Run Safe Always
