Mantin Ultra Trail Run 2018 – In Spotlight
Editor’s Note
Wow! This invitation to a new event with a new trail route came to me on the 11th hour, and as luck would have it, my schedule is blank on that weekend. Despite the short notice, I agreed to join Mantin Ultra Trail Run 2018 (MUTR 2018) because exploring the natural landscape of Mantin is in my bucket list, plus I love running in the wilderness.
As for the ultra distance, I was assured beforehand by my mate Toto of KOW KOW SPORT that the cut-off time for 50km is very doable with only one massive climb halfway . So, let’s see what exciting adventures awaits me in the trails of Mantin…

Mantin is situated in a valley surrounded by hills in the state of Negeri Sembilan. The event will be held in NSSDC (Mantin, Malaysia), start from the NSSDC main entrance taking runners through the oil palm plantations, rubber plantations, star fruit plantations, several Malay village, Chinese Hakka village, Indian Temple, and the challenging hill of Bukit Galla at Labu passing through the narrow alley of Batu Pecah with nature common sight of birds fluttering among the treetops, along with the occasional squirrel and monkey.
This race showcases the typical Malaysian geographical, social and cultural heritage where the runners will meet and see ordinary Malaysian people and wild lives, flora and fauna in the rural settings with a distinct small town feel. During the race, the runners will be sampling the local cuisines in the food and drinks provided at the aid stations along the course of the race.
This is designed to be an international race, with the objectives of attracting foreign and out of state runners to visit Mantin. We are targeting to attract close to 100 foreign participants from 10 countries.
Flag Off
7km run: 8am- 11am(COT 3hours)
21km run: 7am – 1pm(COT 6hours)
50km run: 6am – 6pm(COT 12hours)

Time : 10.30am – 7pm
Venue : Key Power Sports @ Mytown Mall L3-033A, Level 3, MyTown Shopping Centre, No.6, Jalan Cochrane, Seksyen 90, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

**Race kit will be forfeited if failed to collect during the stipulated date and time.
**NO RACE KIT COLLECTION ON RACE DAY
**RACE KIT postal services will not be available
Collection of race kit during race day will not be entertained.
**You may help your friend to collect on behalf. However please along their copy of IC.
