Editor’s Note

It’s Back! I had a blast at the inaugural Kuala Kubu Baru Glow Run 2016, and if the heavenly stars line up this year, I hope to return to the centre of Hulu Selangor, and repeat this lovely night run again in order to take a closer at the many subtleties of its route. In the darkness, it was easy to overlook one’s surroundings for better or for worse.
Yes, this is a night mission which can be thrilling and spooky at the same time. If my memory serves me right, the start and ending of the race in and around the stadium was well lit. However, as we proceeded to the housing area and Kampung vicinity, the lighting was dim, and in some parts, there was only the moonlight to guide us – how romantic!
Therefore, if you are unsure of your footing, I suggest you wear a headlamp to light up your path. The traffic police did a splendid job last year to ensure the few overzealous motorists were kept at bay.

This kind of quaint run would appeal to those no-fuss runners who like to find tranquility while they are running peaçefully on an unfamiliar route, and it won’t suit those who like their running events glitzy, overdressed and predictable…
