The Best Of Cycling And Running 2016

Editor’s Note

Year 2016 has been one helluva ride for me personally with lots of unexpected global events unfolding. They say that challenges are great opportunities for rebuilding and progress. If that is so, then we ought to be making lots of progress!

It has not been easy to balance family commitments with work and play time, and I must thank my wife, family, partners and supporters for all their mammoth support to help me continue chasing my dreams. It is to you all that I dedicate my achievements and good work. Without your unflinching support, my life will be so dull. However, with you guys by my side, I believe that I can do just about anything! I can never be able to repay your trust and support, except to give my best in all my endeavours.

Since this will be my last blog for 2016, I would like it to end it on some good news…

Back-To-Back Publications

As I reported earlier, my running story about my first SCKLM 2016 Pacer Duty was published in Malaysia’s No.1 Running Magazine, RUNNING MALAYSIA Issue 19 (Sep/Oct 2016). Now, it gives me great pleasure to report that my cycling article on PJ Community Ride 2016 has just appeared in Malaysia’s top cycling magazine, Cycling Malaysia Issue 42 (Dec 2016/January 2017)! Many thanks to the Editorial Team of both Running Malaysia and Cycling Malaysia for bestowing upon me this huge honour.

Running vs Cycling

I really enjoy Running and Cycling equally for different reasons, and to be able to enjoy both activities is to be blessed. Therefore, please don’t ask me which is better or ask me to choose between the two, because I can’t and I won’t for now, atleast.

I have been privileged to be able to join some spectacular cycling, as well as running events in 2016. From which, I have met so many great cyclists and runners – too many to mention.

To summarise my dual love of cycling and running :- to be able to do both gives me double happiness, and when I can write and share about both these adventures with my readers gives me Quadruple Happiness!!!!

Plan For 2017

I hope to continue learning, developing, improving in all areas, and live life to the fullest.

I will be very selective when it comes to joining any events because I plan to spend more time with my family. Perhaps, go for more holidays and indulge in more of life’s simple and rewarding pleasures like food, history, culture, community work, reading, travelling, etc. Anything as long as I can broaden my horizons.

Good Bye 2016, Hello 2017

Before the internet crashes on New Year’s Eve, I wish you all a Happy, Successful & Healthy New Year 2017🎉
