Diva Runners In The Pink

Event: The Running Diva Malaysia (TRDM) 2016, Pinktober Edition

Date: 23-OCT-2016

Venue: Pullman Lakeside

Distance: 10km and 3km

Organiser: NM Galaxy who also brought us The Superheroes Race 2015/2016 and Commando Elite Challenge 2015.

Editor’s Note

Cancer is a widespread disease which seems to baffle the world’s top doctors when it comes to finding a medical cure. Unfortunately, treatment for cancer is exorbitant, and often beyond the reach of most people, unless they are adequately insured against it.

Therefore, any legitimate campaigns to raise awareness or funds to help not only the cancer patients, but also, the cancer support organisations and experts should be applauded and supported. For Runners like me, via such genuine events such as TRDM, we can pledge our support for cancer patients by doing what we love, running. Now, who says, “You can’t have your cake, and eat it on the run too”…

A Crowd-Puller

I am uncertain if it was the Pinktober factor, the vibrant pink event Tees, the special bra-shaped medal, or the scenic venue which had attracted the large crowds. You know what? It doesn’t even matter, when the final outcome will benefit a worthy cause.

“The Running Diva Malaysia 2016 (Pinktober) was organized in support of breast cancer awareness, and we had tremendous support from more than 4,000 participants.” – Muazan Mohsin, CEO, NM Galaxy.

Every Dollar Counts

The Diva 10km distance category had attracted many regular, as well as casual runners. While, the Glamour 3km category was taken-up by lots  of fun runners and family members.

The brisk sales of the Running Diva official running t-shirts had generated a total of RM3,000 for the Official Beneficiary, National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM).

Symbolically, the legions of pink t-shirt clad runners demonstrated their overwhelming support for not only NCSM, but also, for the millions who are affected directly or indirectly from the widespread sadness and suffering caused by Cancer.

“We hope that all participants had fun during the event, while maintaining healthy lifestyle by running with families and friends, and also to increase their awareness regarding breast cancer.” – Muazan Mohsin, CEO, NM Galaxy.
