Semenyih Eco Trail Run 2015
A Run For Nature Lovers
The inaugural Semenyih Eco Trail Run (SETR) 2015 is targeted for runners who like 100% off-road Trail Running and at the same time, enjoy being one with nature.
By definition, Ecology is the relationship between organisms and their environment. However, in many instances, we also use the word “Eco” (short for Ecology) to refer to the protection of our natural environment. In the case of SETR 2015, the word “Eco” also refers to promoting the appreciation of our environment by showcasing the beauty of mother nature, and at the same time, learn to exist harmoniously within our Eco-system.
Forest Trails & Snapping Twigs
The race venue is situation at Sg. Lalang Hot spring Semenyih which is only one hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur. Although near the city centre, this venue is at the heart of a green lung which is surrounded by picturesque forests and is a popular holiday retreat for city-dwellers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and enjoy the tranquility and unmatched beauty of nature.
For trail runners, there is no bigger thrill than to run through tree-lined and undulating trails with the peaceful silence broken only by the sounds of twigs snapping and birds calling.
Use It Or Lose It
Running events, such as SETR 2015, that support our environment, by working hand-in-hand with the local community, are vital in the preservation of our country’s fast-depleting Rainforest because they are directly supporting the local economy via Eco-tourism and Eco-sports rather than destroying the environment for the sake of unsustainable projects which primarily benefits greedy corporations and unscrupulous businessmen.
