Brooks Glycerin 12

Finishing Cyberjaya Marathon

SOLE SEARCHING: In 9 months, I managed to significantly wear-off the soles of my favourite pair of Brooks Transcend as you can clearly see from these photos.

Thankfully, my buddy Manson at Brooks outlet in Sunway Pyramid was able to help me to look for a suitable new pair. After analysing the shape of my feet, I followed Manson’s advice and settled for a pair of Brooks Glycerin 12 for two key reasons. First, the Glycerin 12 model has a wider version, called 2EE, to accommodate my wide feet. Secondly, Glycerin 12 is fully loaded with cushioning gel which was what I needed for my upcoming full marathon at Cyberjaya Marathon. Now, it was time to test the theory.

THE REVEAL: The first thing that I noticed when I slipped on my new pair, they fit pretty snugly. That was a great start but how would my feet feel after 80,000 steps over 42.125km on the hard roads of Cyberjaya?
After a slow & gruelling 6 hours, I finally crossed the finish line. The Glycerin 12 delivered everything that Brooks had promised – comfortable foot support, no blisters, no black toenails, and to my pleasant surprise, no sweaty feet. My final verdict on the Glycerin 12 is a resounding two-thumbs up for comfort & performance. Plus it doesn’t hurt that the blue colours were dashingly cool too!
