Most people will not wear someone else’s underwear for the sake of maintaining one’s personal hygiene unless they have a strange fetish for such things. For me, the same thing goes with my running shoes. Footwear and underwear are my most personal accessories , and if the truth be told, they are also my most prized possessions. In fact, picking the right running shoe or underwear for yourself could be the difference between experiencing joyous comfort and immeasurable pain. If they are not the right fit, too tight and not airy enough, you can develop itchy rashes in your nether regions, blisters on your feet or lead to poor blood circulation and, God forbid, loss of feelings in your extremities.
Another similarity between running shoes and underwear is the fact that they do not have an exact used by date. It’s up to you to decide the right time to throw-away your old undies or shoes depending on their usage and the quality of material. There are times when I have ignored the heavy wear-and-tear on my shoes and the elasticity of my underwear’s waist band, and simply continued wearing them until they practically disintegrated into the ground or thin air, I kid you not! Sometimes, we are forced to replace our old & grubby running shoe because we are embarrassed to be seen in public with them. As for your undergarments, it does not matter how bad they look like because they are hidden them under your clothes, most of the time.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I am not qualified here to advise anybody on when would be the right time to replace your old undergarments. However, lucky for us, Brooks Malaysia, understand the challenges we face when it comes to letting-go of our favourite pair of running shoes, and they have launched an exciting new “Run Happy + Go Green” campaign which will save us runners, time, money, heartache and the environment. To enjoy the benefits of this campaign, all you have to do is bring along any pair of your old shoes (it does not have to be running shoes nor does it have to be a Brooks pair) to any Brooks outlet, and you will receive RM150 worth of discount for any new Brooks shoe which uses the BIOMOGO green technology – MoGo midsole is environmentally friendly and a non-toxic, natural additive in the BioMoGo compound encourages anaerobic microbes to munch away 50 times faster once it hits the landfill.
Hurry and Go now to your nearest Brooks outlet, and your feet, wallet and our environment will thank you for it.
