RED LETTER DAY

Today is an important day for me because I have been appointed as the Official Blogger for Team Malaysia Fun Run 2012 by the main sponsor, Telekom Malaysia, and the Event Organiser, Twenty First Century Sports. This unique Malaysian event is supported by the Ministry of Federal Territories & Urban Well-Being as well as the Ministry of Youth & Sports.

MEGA EVENT

The objective of this running event is to bring all walks of Malaysians together to show support to our Malaysian Olympic Contingent. The date & venue has been fixed as 17th June 2012 and Dataran Merdeka respectively. Trust me, you really do not want to miss this one-off special celebratory event not because all finishers will receive a sparkling commemorative medal (see photo), not even because you will receive a Team Malaysia Panthera Jersey (see photo) in the Goodie Bag, and other surprises to follow. The real reason why we all should block our diary on this very auspicious day (17-June-2012) is because we are all MALAYSIANS & WE ARE PROUD  OF IT. The race registration will be limited to 10,000 participants, and I predict that these hot tickets will be taken up faster than you can say MALAYSIA BOLEH.

HOW TO REGISTER

Wait for it! I will provide you exclusive updates in advance before official launching on my Facebook page & Tweeter, both under “Gus Ghani”, and on my blog here. Great or what ! What I can tell you now is that there will be two categories of 3KM & 7KM with same REGISTRATION FEE of rm40. Not bad when you consider that the Team Malaysia Panthera Jersey itself is already priced at rm69.90.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I met Mr. Niithi, Director of Twenty First Century Sports, this morning at his office in SS14, Subang Jaya, where he gave me the good news. Niithi, as he likes to be called, is a heavy hitter in the world of Malaysia’s Sports Industry, and to be selected by him to be their official blogger for such a huge event he holds dear to his heart is an unbelievable honour for me. When Niithi first explained to me the outline of Team Malaysia Fun Run a few weeks ago, I could feel my national patriotic spirit stirred within me, and I literally had goose-bumps. I guess, Twenty First Century Sports appointed me because they believe that I have the right amount & mix of PASSION & PATRIOTISM to share this great event exclusively with all my friends.
