An Action-Packed 2011

It comes as a delightful surprise for me to be able to sincerely describe the Year 2011 as one being “Incredible”, “Awesome”, and I would even go as far as to add in “Life-Changing”. The next obvious question I ask myself is “why has this particular year been so good?”.

First and foremost, I can confidently say that being surrounded by amazing FAMILY and FRIENDS who have inspired, encouraged and supported me, is the key reason why 2011 has been OUTSTANDING. My wish for 2012 is to do whatever it takes to keep these special circle of people in my life, and I will strive to be a worthy and valuable friend to them all. I will continue to never under-estimate the importance of family & friends in my life as I know I have been very blessed to have met and know some AMAZING people.

Next, I thank my lucky stars that I have not been plagued by any illness or sickness in 2011. In fact, I only had to take ONE DAY sick leave in the whole of 2011. I simply can’t remember the last time that has happened. As a Fitness Coach, it is very pleasing to be able to “walk the talk”, and be in good health. How I manage to stay in the “pink of health” is the subject of another blog entry altogether. My wish for 2012 is to maintain good health, and dare I say it, try to take my health up to the next level.

If there was a blemish on an otherwise perfect 2011, it was the passing-away of my dear cat, “Ginger”. On the other hand, I am thankful that my five other felines of Short-Tail, Ameow, Baby Cat, Chi Chi (pic) & Fatty are alive & licking, and they never fail to brighten my days with their combined quirky antics.

Looking back at 2011, the turning-point has got to be my participation of my first sports event in May called the Hoohathlon 2011 because that race led me to take-up RUNNING as my regular past-time. Since then, I have successfully competed & completed in Running Events with distances of 3 KM, 10 KM, 12 KM, 25 KM & 42 KM. I started Running as a way to stay fit, and it soon became a Sunday habit. Now, Running is an integral part of my lifestyle, and I cannot imagine myself NOT going for a run atleast once-a-week.

So why am I so addicted to Running? Part of the answer lies in the fact that Running has brought me plenty of good health, and through my Running activities in 2011, I have been most fortunate to meet some pheneomenal people. Not only that, Running has also boosted and strengthened my relationships with my current friends. My wish for 2012 is for all my friends to join me in a Run atleast once. Now, that would be something.

Goodbye 2011 and Hello 2012.
